The presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has admonished federal lawmakers to proceed with caution amid the planned impeachment of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The former Kano State governor issued the admonition yesterday in Ilorin, Kwara State, while addressing newsmen during a courtesy call on Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. Kwankwaso was in the State to open NNPP offices in Ilorin and other parts of the State.
Some opposition lawmakers on Wednesday threatened to initiate an impeachment process against Buhari over the perennial insecurity in the country.
Kwankwaso warned the legislators to tread softly. He acknowledged that there are reasons to be worried about the security situation in the country and advised the government to brace-up for the challenge. The former minister of Defence, however, appealed to the government to reach out to people with genuine concerns with a view to addressing them.
The NNPP presidential candidate also visited the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, and sought the blessing of the monarch.
